In addition to new cabinetry, we provide high-quality cabinet refinishing, repairs, and professional installation services to extend the life and appearance of your existing cabinets.
Design
We can design your kitchen, bathroom, closet, etc. from scratch. For custom cabinet projects, we will meet you at your home to take measurements, draw your design in our software, and provide you with drawings and 3d renderings.
If you already have plans from a designer - great! We will review your plans to make sure everything will work within your space and fit your needs.
Stock Cabinet Options
For clients seeking a more budget-conscious solution, we offer a selection of pre-assembled and ready-to-assemble stock cabinets in several styles and colors. We also provide cabinet layout and design services to ensure proper fit and functionality.
Full Kitchen & Bathroom Remodeling
As a TN licensed general contractor, we can manage complete kitchen and bathroom remodels—from cabinetry and layout to full project coordination—providing a streamlined, start-to-finish experience.

What comes next in the process?
Step 1 – Consultation & Budget Planning
We start with an in-depth conversation about your kitchen, goals, timeline, and budget. This ensures expectations are clear from day one.
After our initial discussion, we’ll schedule an in-home consultation. During this visit, we’ll take detailed measurements of your space and discuss your goals for the project, including layout, functionality, colors, materials, budget, and overall timeline.
To make the most of this meeting, we recommend gathering inspiration ahead of time by browsing resources such as Houzz, Pinterest, and Google Images. This helps us better understand your style and preferences.
Step 2 – Design & Layout
We create a functional, custom cabinet design tailored to your space. Layouts, finishes, and materials are reviewed and refined before anything is built.
Step 3 – Clear Pricing & Approval
You receive a detailed estimate outlining exactly what’s included—no vague allowances or surprise upgrades. If the estimate aligns with your budget, the next steps are simple: you’ll receive a contract for e-signature, submit a deposit, and we’ll move forward by providing a detailed 3D design and layout for your space and schedule your delivery/installation.
Step 4 – Custom Cabinet Production
Your cabinets are built locally using quality materials and proven construction methods for long-term durability.
Step 5 – Installation & Follow-Through
Our team installs your cabinetry with care and precision. We remain available after installation for support and adjustments if needed.

Our Story
HL Custom Cabinets is proudly owned and operated by Tyson Hamilton, a lifelong East Tennessee resident who believes the best work is done with care, craftsmanship, and a personal touch. Tyson graduated from Roane County High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Tennessee, but it didn’t take long for him to realize that a corporate office job wasn’t where he belonged.
In 2016, Tyson made the decision to pursue a career in construction and remodeling beginning with “house flipping”—work that allowed him to build with his hands and give old homes a fresh, new life. In 2019, Tyson obtained his TN General Contractor license and began offering construction and remodeling services to the public through HL Properties LLC.
However, since his first job working in a small cabinet shop when he was 17, woodworking and cabinetry had always remained the area of construction Tyson was most passionate about—finding real satisfaction in transforming an idea into a finished product. In 2021, Tyson founded HL Custom Cabinets and built its home, a 3200 sq ft workshop in Kingston, TN. Today, he leads HL Custom Cabinets with a commitment to doing things the right way, giving every project hands-on attention and clear communication from start to finish.
When he’s not on the job, Tyson enjoys spending time at home in Kingston with his wife, Heather, and playing with their two children, Houston and Lily. He’s a devoted Tennessee Vols fan and values time with family and friends just as much as quality work. That same sense of pride and dedication carries into every project—because for Tyson, this isn’t just construction, it’s building spaces that feel like home.
